Anadrol is the 50mg tablet of the anabolic steroid oxymetholone,prescribed as an oral medication. It is a potent anabolic andandrogenic drug. It is one of the class II anabolic steroids, and theseact without aromatization into other androgenic hormones (such ascaproate in Omnadren, that aromatizes into estrogen and then acts inthe body). The basic mechanism of Anadrol is to act through the liver;this is how class II steroids work. Mostly, testosterone increases thelevel of nitrogen in body and this enhances protein synthesis. Incontrast to this mechanism, Anadrol (oxymetholone) boosts the excretionof erythropoietin through urine, and triggers red blood cell production.

Anadrol is usually prescribed for patients with many kinds ofanemia, for example acquired aplastic anemia, congenital aplasticanemia, mylofibrosis and hypoplastic anemia. Patients with anemia havebone marrow defects that inhibit erythropoisis (red blood cellsynthesis), and are treated with this drug to enhance red blood cellsynthesis to combat their deficiency. It also helps to stimulate theandrogenic hormonal functions, which can give you the benefit ofprotein synthesis and muscle build up. It is also prescribed forpatients with excessive weight loss, as it helps to gain weight andmuscle via water retention in body.

Anadrol is good for anemia patients, but it has very long term sideeffects, and these cannot be minimized when too much of the drug hasbeen taken. The first and foremost side effect is the inhibition oftestosterone and other androgenic hormones, which causes a negativeeffect on the normal regulation of body systems. It can prove to betoxic by causing excessive water retention in the body, and enormousweight gain reduces body strength. It increases appetite, hair growth,acne, headaches, and is toxic for liver function. It can produce tumorsin the liver by blood clotting, and can cause hepatitis, jaundice,liver cancer and cirrhosis with its long term use.

Anadrol is used for:

Treating certain types of anemia. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Anadrolis an androgen hormone. It works by increasing the production oferythropoietin, a chemical in the body that increases the production ofred blood cells.

Do NOT use Anadrol if:

• you are allergic to any ingredient in Anadrol
• you are or may become pregnant
• you have severe kidney problems (eg, nephrosis) or severe liver problems or have cancer of the prostate or breast

• if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances
• if you have diabetes; an enlarged prostate; heart, kidney, or liver problems; or high blood calcium

SomeMEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Anadrol . Tell your health care provider ifyou are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:

• Anticoagulants(eg, warfarin), carbamazepine, insulin, or oxyphenbutazone because therisk of side effects may be increased by Anadrol

How to use Anadrol :

Use Anadrol as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

• Anadrol may be taken with or without food. If stomach upset occurs, take with food to reduce stomach irritation.
• Ifyou miss a dose of Anadrol , take it as soon as possible. If it isalmost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back toyour regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

• Diabetespatients - Anadrol may affect your blood sugar. Check blood sugarlevels closely and ask your doctor before adjusting the dose of yourdiabetes medicine.
• LAB TESTS, including bloodcholesterol and lipid levels, iron levels, urine and blood calciumlevels, liver function tests, bone growth and development, and completeblood cell counts, may be performed to monitor your progress or tocheck for side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.
• UseAnadrol with caution in the ELDERLY because they may be more sensitiveto its effects, especially enlarged prostate and prostate cancer.
• Anadrolmay affect certain lab tests, including thyroid function tests. Be sureyour doctors and lab personnel know you are taking Anadrol .
• Anadrolmay affect the growth rate in CHILDREN and adolescents in someinstances. Your child's growth may need to be checked regularly whileusing Anadrol .
• Caution is advised when using Anadrolin CHILDREN because they may be more sensitive to its effects,especially effects on bone growth and sexual development.
• PREGNANCYand BREAST-FEEDING: Do not use Anadrol if you are pregnant. If yoususpect that you could be pregnant, contact your doctor immediately. Itis unknown if Anadrol is excreted in breast milk. Do not breast-feedwhile using Anadrol .

Abnormal skin sensations; acne; anxiety; baldness; changes in sexual desire; general body discomfort; headache.

Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:

Severeallergic reactions (rash; hives; difficulty breathing; tightness in thechest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); breast growth;changes in menstrual periods; changes in skin color; deepening of thevoice; depression; frequent or persistent erections; hoarseness; moodor mental problems; more hair on the face; nausea; new lumps or pain;swelling of arms or legs; trouble sleeping; trouble urinating; unusualbruising or bleeding; vomiting; weight gain; yellowing of the skin oreyes.

How to store Anadrol:
